THE WATERBOYS.

The Waterboys allows a song to grow from voice, melody, and an agile band sound. Rock energy and folk sensibility can coexist within the same track. Mike Scott's delivery gives the stories a distinct presence, while the accompaniment leaves room for rhythmic momentum and instrumental color. The repertoire changes character without losing its narrative voice.

Discovering The Waterboys on vinyl makes it appealing to hear different album periods side by side. A LP allows the balance between electric instruments and acoustic colors to grow over multiple songs. Pay attention to the lesser-known album tracks as well: there, the choices in interplay and delivery become just as clear as in a grand chorus.

A vinyl album gives the songs a fixed order and a tangible place in your collection. Give the lesser-known tracks time as well, and follow the transitions within a side of the record.
