YANN TIERSEN.

Yann Tiersen allows a small melodic motif to open up a larger musical space. Piano, other instruments, and sound layers can hold a pattern while new lines emerge around it. The music makes room for repetition, silence, and subtle change. As a result, a recurring phrase takes on a different meaning each time, depending on the accompaniment and the direction in which a piece develops further.

Discovering Yann Tiersen on vinyl invites you to give longer passages time. A LP allows individual pieces to grow side by side within the same sound world. Studio albums and film music offer different routes through the repertoire. When choosing an edition, pay attention to the precise recording and instrumentation: they determine how a melody is performed and which instrumental colors surround it.

A vinyl album gives the music a fixed order and a tangible place in your collection. Give the lesser-known pieces time as well, and follow the transitions within a side of the record.
