On Santana, the guitar carries a melody as if it were singing. The band lets percussion and organ move around that line, until rock and rhythm start a conversation of their own.

In Santana, the rhythm sets the direction. Percussion, organ, and bass build a dynamic foundation over which the guitar lays an almost singing melody. Rock, blues, and Latin American rhythms flow into one another without losing their own character. The power lies not only in a solo, but in the way the entire band supports that solo.

Santana III and Lotus demonstrate just how expansive that musical language can become. A Santana-LP invites you to follow the rhythm section alongside the guitar. On vinyl, longer passages are given time to build tension, with an interplay between repetition, improvisation, and melody that can carry an entire side of the record.

A rock LP also tells a story through the order of the songs. Give quiet passages just as much space as the bigger outbursts and follow the band's interplay. Among the available vinyl releases, you will find the format and design, so you can choose a suitable record.

Santana Iii sharpens the early group energy; Moonflower demonstrates how the band could carry that richer sound on stage as well.

In the story about SECOND LIFE, you read, among other things, why a song made famous by Santana can get a second life. Rock and blues help give the guitars a place.

Stevie Wonder and Prince infuse rhythm with different colors, while Eric Clapton stays closer to the blues. The Rolling Stones and Joni Mitchell demonstrate how far a melody can travel from those roots.
