THE STRANGLERS.

The Stranglers gives rock a recognizable color by having bass, keyboards, and guitar respond emphatically to one another. The vocals can remain dry and direct over an arrangement that moves in various directions. A song doesn't need to go big to retain a lot of character. Rhythm and melodic accents give the music its own tension.

Listening to The Stranglers on vinyl makes it interesting to hear different periods of the band side by side. A LP allows the album tracks to retain their place alongside the best-known songs. Pay particular attention to the bass and keyboards as well: their lines can determine the direction of a song and give a simple chorus a distinct atmosphere.

A vinyl album gives the songs a fixed order and a tangible place in your collection. Give the lesser-known tracks time as well, and follow the transitions within a side of the record.
