STING.

Sting writes songs in which a recognizable melody leaves room for various rhythmic and harmonic colors. His voice remains clear in arrangements that can grow from a small ensemble to a broader band sound. Pop, jazz sensibility, and other musical influences meet without losing the song structure. The timing of the vocals determines how the story unfolds.

The Last Ship opens up a different world than his work with The Police. Discovering Sting on vinyl can therefore take you through various chapters of the repertoire. A LP gives the songs their own setting and makes it appealing to follow the instrumental accompaniment and the build-up between the tracks, in addition to the chorus.

A vinyl album gives the songs a fixed order and a tangible place in your collection. Give the lesser-known tracks time as well, and follow the transitions within a side of the record.
