STAN GETZ.

Stan Getz gives the tenor saxophone a smooth, almost singing character. His melodic lines can move lightly over a rhythm without losing their direction. In both a jazz ensemble and bossa nova, phrasing remains decisive. A note does not need to be long or loud to carry great meaning at exactly the right place.

Big Band Bossa Nova offers an entry point into the interplay between his saxophone and a larger arrangement. Listening to Stan Getz on vinyl makes it interesting to hear different lineups and sessions side by side. A LP focuses attention on the accompaniment and the space within which his melodies can unfold.

On vinyl, also listen to the moments when one instrument makes room for another. The LP is an invitation to follow a complete session. Consult the format and recording details of the available editions to choose a record that suits your collection.
