SCREAMING TREES.

Screaming Trees gives guitar rock a dark, gritty undertone. Psychedelic colors and heavy riffs surround a vocal line that lives through the songs rather than neatly finishing them. Beneath the rough surface lie strong melodies, allowing a track to sound both heavy and accessible at the same time. The band leaves room for rough edges without losing its structure.

Sweet Oblivion and Dust are fitting entry points into that relationship between melody and menace. Listening to Screaming Trees on vinyl makes it appealing to hear the album tracks as part of the same landscape. A LP alternates the heavier songs and the more open passages, with the voice as a recognizable connection.

A vinyl album gives the songs a fixed order and a tangible place in your collection. Give the lesser-known tracks time as well, and follow the transitions within a side of the record.
