ROY ORBISON.

Roy Orbison often makes a pop song grow from an almost hesitant thought into a major emotional movement. His voice can start low and subdued and then reach a remarkable height. The melodies hold that development together. As a result, the drama lies in the build-up of the song, not just in a single striking note.

The available collections, including the The Monument Singles Collection, offer various entry points into that repertoire. Those listening to Roy Orbison on vinyl can also experience the songs as sequential stories. A LP gives an intimate ballad and a rhythmically more direct track their own place, so that the differences within the same recognizable voice become more audible.

When making your choice, compare the track selection of the vinyl releases. Different collections may present different recordings or a different order. The product pages provide information about the physical record and offer a starting point for listening further to related rock ’n’ roll, country, and pop where the vocals carry the story.
