MECANO.

The Spanish group Mecano combines electronic pop with melodies that hold their own even without elaborate arrangements. Ana Torroja's voice gives the songs a clear core, while keyboards and rhythmic patterns provide color and movement. The repertoire can be light and danceable, but also carry a small narrative or a sensitive ballad. This variety makes it interesting to get to know the group through their full albums.

From debut Mecano via Ya Viene el Sol to Entre el Cielo y el Suelo, Descanso Dominical, and Aidalai, the relationship between synthesizers and song form shifts. On vinyl LP, you can follow this development and hear the more well-known songs alongside the other album tracks. A quiet passage can give the electronic sound a different meaning, while a tight rhythm brings out the melodic directness.

For SJELF, this catalog belongs to the Spanish pop group. The available vinyl records and the Spotify profile are tailored to this. Compare the specific LP version on the product page; the routes to ABBA and a-ha offer additional entry points for those primarily drawn to melodic pop and a recognizable keyboard sound.
