MEAT LOAF.

Meat Loaf brings the drama of the theater to a rock record. His vocals can build a story as if every verse opens a new scene, with room for vulnerability, humor, and a great release. Piano, guitar, and backing vocals often provide the songs with a broad backdrop. The collaboration with Jim Steinman forms an important starting point for that world, in which a chorus is not only a recognizable melody but also the climax of a narrative.

Bat Out of Hell and Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell demonstrate just how far a rock song can stretch. On vinyl-LP, the alternation between ballads and exuberant passages takes up the space of an entire side of the record. A compilation like Hits Out of Hell offers yet another perspective, with well-known songs side by side. This makes it worthwhile to carefully compare the chosen title and content.

A Meat Loaf-LP suits lovers of narrative rock with grand arrangements. Via Queen and Boston, you can discover related forms of melodic rock. View the various vinyl editions at SJELF and listen to the correct album with each product page.
