GORILLAZ.

Gorillaz allows a band to exist in music, drawings, and encounters. Behind that form lie albums on which new voices open a different door each time.

Gorillaz builds a musical world where different voices meet. A bassline, an electronic rhythm, and a guest contribution can each give a song a different color. Yet the music maintains a recognizable perspective: melodies can be light and playful, while the surrounding environment preserves something melancholic or alienating. This dual layer makes the albums interesting beyond the visual form of the virtual band.

Gorillaz on vinyl makes room for that multiplicity. Demon Days, Plastic Beach, and the other LPs demonstrate how an album can connect different genres without losing its own atmosphere. Listen to the transitions between songs and to the instrumental details behind the vocals. A guest voice is often more than a separate addition here: it changes the musical environment and makes the adjacent tracks audible in a different way as well.

Demon Days moves between dark pop and rhythm; Plastic Beach looks beyond styles and collaborations.

The artist story of Gorillaz follows how Damon Albarn and his co-creators built that world. Pop and hip-hop show why there is room for so many guests.

Blur harks back to Albarn's other band, Massive Attack to a British hybrid of beat and atmosphere. Kendrick Lamar, Talking Heads, and Daft Punk each keep a different line of rhythmic thinking open.
