BEHIND THE RECORDS.

THE ARTIST.

Froukje writes lines that stick because she doesn't gloss over the doubt. A song can be about the world and, at the same time, about that one moment when you don't know what to say. Her rhythms give those questions room to move.

Froukje brings words and rhythm closely together. A melody can remain clear, while the lyrics leave room for doubt or a different perspective. The accompaniment colors this relationship with keyboards, bass, and short accents. Also listen to the moments when a layer drops: the voice then gains a different proximity without the song losing its movement.

Froukje on vinyl presents the songs in their album order. A LP side allows room for the alternation between rhythmic productions and subdued passages. Try following a backing vocal or a small keyboard motif that returns later. These details connect the songs and demonstrate how a full record can give more meaning to a familiar refrain.

FROM EP TO ALBUM.

The EPs Licht en Donker and Uitzinnig are released together on a single vinyl edition by SJELF. The debut album Noodzakelijk Verdriet from 2024 is available in two pressings, alongside Live in Brussel. These are different ways to hear the same songs: carefully recorded in the studio and live in front of an audience.

ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME?

The second studio album Kijk Je Naar Mij? will be released on October 2, 2026, according to Froukje. Three versions are available for pre-order at SJELF. The new songs turn the focus more outward: what happens when you are visible, while also wanting to keep space for yourself? Read the NEWS UPDATE for the announcement.
