FOO FIGHTERS.

Foo Fighters sounds like a band that prefers to discover the chorus out loud together. Beneath the full guitars, there is often a simple melodic line that holds everything together.

Foo Fighters often let a song grow from a riff or rhythmic movement that immediately provides direction. The vocals can start close to that and then break open with the band. Even in a grand chorus, small guitar responses and drum accents remain important. Listen to the passages where a layer drops: they give the next full entry extra weight.

Foo Fighters on vinyl showcases the repertoire beyond the individual singles. A LP side gives solid rock songs and subdued moments their own place in the sequence. Follow the drums beneath a familiar melody and notice how the guitars complement each other. The interplay makes it clear why a full record moves differently than a series of well-known choruses.

Sonic Highways travels from city to city and takes those places along in the sound; But Here We Are brings grief and band playing close together. In this way, the same group can carry very different emotions.

The artist story of Foo Fighters follows how Dave Grohl and the band turned a new beginning into a long-lasting musical story. Alternative rock and rock put the direct guitars in perspective.

Oasis seeks the chorus, Red Hot Chili Peppers the groove. Muse and Metallica amplify the sound each differently, while Golden Earring demonstrates how long a tight live band can keep going.
