CLIPSE.

Clipse creates rap in which the precision of a line and the space of a beat sharpen each other. Pusha T and Malice do not need to constantly speed up to maintain tension; the emphasis on a word or a brief silence can be enough. The production provides an environment for their voices that often sounds clear and simultaneously restless.

Lord Willin’ and Hell Hath No Fury reveal various facets of that collaboration on vinyl. Listen to the way a drum sound supports a phrase and how little is sometimes needed to give a track character. A complete LP also holds together the smaller transitions and mood shifts. The later releases offer an additional route through the duo’s work.

In the vinyl selection of Clipse at SJELF, you will find Hell Hath No Fury, Lord Willin', Til the Casket Drops, and Let God Sort Em' Out.
