CLANNAD.

Clannad allows voices to shape a space before a song has fully unfolded. The harmonies can evoke something old and familiar, while the production builds a broader, sometimes almost cinematic environment. Acoustic instruments and atmospheric sounds give the music both proximity and distance. The landscape lies in the sound, not just in the lyrics.

Magical Ring and Legend represent two different routes through that world on vinyl. Listen to the relationship between a solo voice and the ensemble, and to the moments when an instrumental layer takes over the narrative. On a LP, the atmosphere is given time to develop. Furthermore, the product details help select a specific vinyl edition when an album has been released in multiple editions.

A LP gives the music a beginning, a moment of rest when turning over, and an end. Therefore, listen to an entire side of the record. Which passage sticks in your mind when the familiar track is over? It is precisely the smaller transitions that can give an album a different character and reveal why you return to this artist.
