BEHIND THE RECORDS.

THE ARTIST.

Anthrax makes metal with riffs that are not only heavy but also land rhythmically sharp. The guitars and drums work closely together, while the vocals give the songs a clear shape.

In Anthrax, the riff has a certain dynamism: a short pattern can send the entire band in a different direction. The music remains fierce, but the rhythmic clarity also makes it resilient. Within thrash metal, that combination of precision and directness stands out. The vocals lend the instrumental attack a recognizable human voice, making a song more than just a series of fast passages.

A LP allows room for the differences between those songs. An opening can immediately set pressure, while a subsequent riff gathers strength through a pause. Follow the drums beneath the guitars and hear where the accents coincide. The interplay reveals how a band builds tension collectively, even when each part starts relatively simply individually.

Just follow the band's accents. A riff can suddenly change direction due to a break or a shift in emphasis. This alternation between driving passages and a recognizable refrain keeps the music dynamic.
