ALCEST.

Alcest lets heavy guitars dissolve into light and mist; the voice doesn't need to be upfront to still feel close.

The contrast between weight and air is not an embellishment, but the engine of the music. A heavy guitar can carry a melody that feels almost weightless, while the vocals become an extra layer in the whole. On vinyl, the long movements are given time to make their effect heard. Listen where the sound becomes dense and where it breaks open again: the change itself tells the story.

Souvenirs d’un autre monde is a soft entry, Écailles de lune deepens the shadows. Start at Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde.

The Artist Story for The Cure shows how atmosphere can play a leading role outside of metal as well. Shoegaze and black metal each touch a different side of Alcest. Explore The Cure, shoegaze, and BLACK METAL.
